"Black & White" challenge.

Lesson 2
e: Arms
1:Sew all around the edges of the Freezer paper arms leaving NO OPENING! Reinforce the starting and ending stitches on all sewing. NOTE: If you catch the very edge of the freezer paper in your stitching it is not the end of the world. It will still peel off ok!!:-)
2:Next cut around the edge of them  leaving a 8 mm seam
3:Peel the freezer paper off, you can use this again over and over again.
4:Carefully SLASH through ONLY ONE SINGLE THICKNESS of fabric on each arm  with sharp scissors or snips. See where to slash on your pattern pieces. This will be the back of the  arm.
5:Now turn the Arms  through the Slash opening, carefully , gently and slowly ease each corner through.
6; Stuff the Arms by bending a chenille stem in half, turning under the sharp edges and inserting one in each arm. No stuffing needed! Now carefully sew up the slash at the back of the Arm as neatly as possible.
f: The Head
1:Sew all around the edges of the HEAD, leaving No opening
Cut around the Head, leaving a seam or edge around the outside of the stitching.
2: Slash through only a single thickness of the fabric where shown on the pattern piece and turn the head through to the right side.
3; Now stuff the head till it feels even all over.
4: Sew the slash together with neat stitches. You will cover this with hair or a turban or something as this is the back of the head.
5: Hand sew the arms to the shoulders with matching thread
To find out how to paint the face and attach the head to the body please go and read the Xmas Angel free class..lesson 3 on my website. It seems silly for me to repeat it again when it is set out well with lots of pictures for you to go by. In fact you can use that online class if you need more detail in the instructions for this doll as you can apply them well.
Have lots of fun and  I can't wait to see the wonderful dolls that you all come up with for the Black & White challenge..
Hugs Di
